Hi there! I started this journey of starting my own agency two years ago, and even though I knew I would be successful, I’m so blessed to be where I am at as a twenty-two year old publicist + talent manager. It hasn’t been easy, but every second has been worth it and I can’t wait to start telling you guys all about it - the good, the bad and the ugly.
In the past year, I have learned SO much personally and professionally but the most important thing I was able to learn was that this industry is evolving. And will never stop evolving. Granted, I was told this time and time again while I was in school but it took me living and working through such an uncertain time like the pandemic, where our entire industry was flipping upside down and everything we thought we knew as PR professionals was no more, for that to slip me in the face. I quickly realized that to survive as a business, I would need a total revamp.
If we were friends prior to lockdown, you probably remember how much I love working with the media and finding new audiences for my clients, and nothing has changed there! However, with the growing phenomenon of influencer marketing not showing a sign of slowing down, I decided to reprioritize my objectives as a business. Media appearances are still very important - don’t get me wrong - more important than that however, is helping my clients see a large ROI as a brand, as helping acquire brand partnerships is a huge tactic to ensure that happens.
Along with what we do shifting a bit, we also added a member to our team, Hanna Stocton! Hanna has been a friend of mine for many years, but that’s not why I brought her onto my team. You know that person in your life that can get creative when you hit a mental roadblock or knows exactly what you need in a crisis before you do? You guessed it, that’s Hanna. I’m not someone that’s easily impressed by a fancy client list or a shiny resume. Show me what you can do! Tell me your ideas on a current client of mine! Let me know how you would pitch your favorite magazine! I like actions, and that’s why I know Hanna is a huge asset to this brand and my team.
